Privacy Policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
The JITOL Party (“JITOL,” “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect at jitol.org, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and optionally your state or region.
- Your contributions: ideas you post, votes you cast on ideas, and supporter or volunteer forms you submit.
- Donations: name, mailing address, employer, occupation and eligibility statements, which election law requires political committees to collect. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Store orders: shipping details and order history, processed by Stripe.
- Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Basic technical data: cookies needed to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run your account and the member features you use.
- To send updates, but only if you opted in. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also change this on your profile.
- To process donations and orders, and to meet legal reporting obligations. Contributions above legal thresholds may be reported, with donor details, to election authorities, where they become public record.
- To answer your messages and keep the site secure.
We never sell your personal information, and we never share it with candidates or other organizations for their own marketing.
Shared login with sister sites
JITOL uses a login system shared with a small number of sister websites, so one email and password can work on each. Your membership and activity on JITOL are separate. Joining one site does not join you to another, and we do not share your JITOL activity with those sites.
Service providers
We rely on Supabase (database and login), Brevo (email), Stripe (payments) and our web host. Each processes data only on our instructions.
Your choices and rights
You can update your profile and email preferences at any time in your account. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your JITOL membership, email support@jitol.org. Some donation records must be kept as long as the law requires.
Children
JITOL is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will post the new version here and tell members by email.
